Pender Harbour Music Society is extremely regretful to inform you that the three remaining concerts in our 2019-20 series have been cancelled. Due to concerns around the COVID-19 virus situation, our artists will not be completing their planned tours.
Cancelled performances are:
- Slocan Ramblers – March 28
- Paul Marleyn and Silvia Fraser – April 19
- Julie Nesrallah and Robert Kortgaard – May 3
The calibre of the music they would have brought is very high, and some of them are already favourites on the Coast. We hope arrangements can be made to have all three concerts included in our future series programming.
We have a very exciting series of concerts in various genres planned from August, 2020 to May 2021 and hope to launch the series with our Summer Chamber Weekend Aug. 14 -16, a celebration of Beethoven, featuring Simon Fryer with Crossroute String Quartet and the piano duo Michelle Mares and Mark Anderson. Watch for our brochure in early June and for information, then on this website.
Music has the power to lift our spirits and reinforce our kinship, and we will soon be enjoying live performances together again. Our best wishes for health and strength in this trying period. Thank you for your support of our continuing efforts to bring a variety of top quality live music to our community.
Our Coffee House evenings are cancelled also, until further notice, in compliance with the provincial government’s mandatory orders put in place to keep us all safe.
