The Pender Harbour Legion #112 Pipe Band

6712846_origThe pipe band officially started on November 17th. 1989, when a small group of people responded to John Webb’s invitation to learn to play the bagpipes and drums. Under John’s tutelage, they were soon taking part in the Armistice Day parade and other annual events.

The band, with some original members still in the line-up, continues to lead the harbour’s annual parades; Remembrance Day is the most significant event of the year, with the May Day parade and the Legion’s Robbie Burns Night other major events; the band is happy to support other Community events. Though few in numbers, its members are enthusiastic and constantly looking to improve, and would particularly welcome experienced pipers and drummers into their ranks. A good sense of humour is essential!

Practice night is Thursday, 7.30pm at the PH School of Music.
